Each story is scored from 1 to 5 on the strength of the evidence behind it. The rating describes the evidence, not the quality of the product or the company.
| Level | Evidence | What it means |
| 1 | Company claims only | Announcements and marketing statements with no independent data published. |
| 2 | Pilot or observational | Early pilots, single-site studies, case series or observational data. |
| 3 | Prospective multicentre or regulator-cleared | A prospective multicentre study, or clearance or approval from a regulator such as the FDA, MHRA or a notified body. |
| 4 | Peer-reviewed RCT | At least one randomised controlled trial published in a peer-reviewed journal. |
| 5 | Multiple RCTs or meta-analysis, plus real-world adoption | Consistent results across several trials or a meta-analysis, backed by real-world use at scale. |
